TBG to Provide Integrated Training Solution to GoAP as Part of its G2E Initiative.

Northboro, MA, Feb 28, 2003 – The Boston Group, a leading provider of IT Solutions & Services today announced that it will provide an integrated training management system for all the state departments of the Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) as part of its G2E e-governance initiative.

Commenting on the first project of its nature by a State Government in India, Mr. Subu Kota, CEO, The Boston Group said: “It is indeed an important day for TBG as it is privileged to be part of a pioneering initiative by GoAP which will help usher in a new era of e-governance initiatives in India. It only reinforces our commitment to continually provide world class & cutting edge solutions to our Customers worldwide”

GoAP recognized the importance of IT in “improving to transform itself into a knowledge society" and also to improve its economy as a whole. Recognizing the need for technology-enabled service delivery, as a part of its e-Governance strategy, GoAP initiated an innovative broad based, enterprise-wide approach to service delivery. As a part of its G2E initiative GoAP ventured on a bold and path breaking initiative for implementing a HRMS and LMS for a user base of 200,000 users in various State Government Departments.

The Government demanded transformation of manual systems managed out of multiple legacy island solutions to a central robust enterprise platform. Conversion of this magnitude required expertise in multiple domains. Government of Andhra Pradesh asked for the best practices of HRMS and Training with open standards, web based multi tier architecture and componentized software technology.

A consortium of The Boston Group, Ramco Systems and Hewitt Associates pooled in their resources and won a closely contested bid. The choice of the consortium was made based on experience and expertise on Training & Learning Systems of The Boston Group, the HRMS of Ramco Systems and the consulting expertise and experience of Hewitt Associates.

“The biggest challenge of the consortium is to provide a cost effective and yet an engaging, agile, scalable and secure solution that effectively met the requirements of the government of Andhra Pradesh. This will be achieved by the consortium partners by blending in their expertise and experience to meet the project objectives” says Mohan Krishna, Vice President of The Boston Group.
