The Boston Group, Lydia build e-learning database
Mass High Tech, July 22, 2002

The Boston Group, a software development consultancy in Northborough and Lydia Inc., a Holden-based provider of e-learning resources, have formed a partnership to launch the Lydia Global Repository, an exchange for developers and distributors of e-learning resources.

Together the two companies have started a Web-based exchange that will allow the development and sale of e-learning resources anywhere in the world.

Lydia’s repository is a database management system that aggregates e-learning resources and makes them available to those who don’t have access or cannot afford access to such resources.

The repository allows the public to have access to everything from audio, video, text and graphs to entire courses.

“The philosophy of openness and vendor-platform neutrality enables the use of virtually any style or approach to e-learning resource development,” Suba Kota, chairman of The Boston Group, said in a release. “We are rapidly developing new relationships with corporations, educational institutions and service providers worldwide to provide further sharing of reusable e-learning resources.”
