BOSTON Software Consultants India, part of the $37 million US-based technology solutions provider for the e-learning space, has drawn up plans to expand India operations. This includes reaching out its Intralearn technology solutions, establishing an India-centric portal for insurance and financial markets and creation of a virtual university.
The Chairman of The Boston Group, Mr Subu M. Kota, told Business Line that the company was among the first to offer e-learning services leveraging the Internet and had over 60 major financial institutions as its clients. Now, with India showing signs of growth and the huge latent potential in the Indian sector, "we plan to invest about Rs 3 crore and create a virtual university."
This virtual university and financialcampusindia.com, both extensions of its services offered in the US, are set to commence India operations in February. This varsity has a unique business model wherein it seeks to build strategic partners, as was the case in the US and develop customised training modules for corporations in the areas of insurance, banking and financial services.
"When a company executive taps this portal, he will have the same feeling of visiting his own company site. While the services are user-friendly, they provide training and soft skills that differentiate one from another. For instance, in the US, those offered training by the Boston Intralearn solutions are provided compliance certificate that conforms to the US Securities and Exchange Commission regulations. Even stockbrokers use our training methodologies as the market demands constant skill upgradation to keep pace with the changing business demands," Mr Kota said.
